FINNISH METAL EXPO: More Details Announced

Finnish Metal Expo, the new metal music event taking place at the Cablefactory in Helsinki, Finland during January 28-29 is starting to take its final shape.

The band contest collaboration between FME and Tuska Open Air Metal Festival was more popular than anticipated. The jury went through a total of 148 demos of various quality and chose the four following acts to appear live at the Finnish Metal Expo:

The instrument clinics present the very best of Finnish metal knowledge. ROTTEN SOUND drummer Kai Hahto shows the proper grindcore chops on Friday and Saturday is dedicated to guitar and bass artists. Lauri Porra (SINERGY, KOTIPELTO),Euge Valovirta (GODSPLAGUE),Roope Latvala featuring Alexi Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM),Tuomo Saikkonen and Kuisma Aalto (MOKOMA),Petteri Hirvanen (MONSTER BALL, RIVENDELL) and Petteri Sariola (acoustic) are all scheduled to appear on Saturday, January 29.

International Metal Meeting, the professional event for the industry types, has attracted participants from Russia, Sweden, U.K., France, Germany, Switzerland and the United States representing labels, promoters, agencies, managements and medias. The list is increasing daily.

The Finnish government has shown its approval to metal, as the Finnish Ministry of Trade and Industry has granted support to International Metal Meeting. The funds will be used to flying key figures and journalists to the Finnish Metal Expo.
